Nestled at the foot of the majestic Otjihavera Mountains, in the heart of the Otjozondjupa region, is the Midgard Country Estate. The estate is a 16000 ha farm, exhibiting some of Namibia’s most impressive gardens and interesting geological formations.
Farm Midgard was acquired in 1937, and is steeped in Namibian history stemming from a prominent heritage. The historical wonders featured on the estate include the original farmhouse, which was constructed with clay bricks in 1937, and has been ardently preserved. Additionally, the estate boasts various museums with priceless historical collections acquired over the decades.
In 1993 the farm was converted into a fully-fledged lodge, which has since been transformed into a magnificent country estate with individual charm and ambience.
After extensive refurbishment, preserving its natural and historical splendour, Midgard Country Estate re-opened in October 2009, positioning itself as Namibia’s premier Conference Venue and Country Estate.
