On 15th April, son Karl Werner Rudolph was born.
1939

Ohlthaver & List Limited became a sizeable shareholder in the Felsenkeller Brauerei Limited.

Carl List assumes the Chairmanship upon the untimely death of its manager Leopold Mahler.

Swakomund Brauerei and the Omaruru Brauerei fuses to form the South West Breweries which is operated in the heart of Windhoek in the Northern Industrial area.
1959

Carl List (79) dies in Swakopmund on 15 February after a long illness.
1966

Erna Oest (wife of Hermann Ohlthaver) dies (childless)on 27 February at the age of 74.
1974

Paula List dies in Windhoek on 22 July at the age of 84.
1979

Hermann Ohlthaver dies in Johannesburg on 1 May at the age of 95.

Rieck Joinery is acquired, originally in support of Nieswandts boatbuilding activities, but later involved in carpentry and furniture manufacture.

Hansa Brauerei undertook construction of about 30 sectional Title Town Houses on the beachfront in Swakopmund – all since sold.

Mokuti Lodge: Construction starts outside Namutoni gate to the Etosha Game park

1995/96

The Partnership Agreement between O&L/Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) and the University of Namibia (UNAM) is signed by His Excellency President Sam Nujoma as Chancellor of the University, and Werner List as Group Chairman.

Namibia Breweries Limited listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange.

O&L Group’s fishing operations consolidated by merging with Kuiseb Holdings, a company owned jointly by Irvin & Johnson Limited and Naras Investments (PTY) LTD.
1998

Sven Thieme – grandson of Karl Werner Rudolph List - joins Group after extensive experience with Deloitte & Touche in Europe and South Africa.

Thieme introduces Corporate Governance as mechanism to further ensure and develop effective management practices.

ICT: centralisation of information and communication technology into the “Ohlthaver & List Information and Communication Technology Division” (ICT)

Namibia Dairies launches the new long-life (UHT) product (NAMMILK FARM FRESH MILK) – the first in Namibia.

Namibia Breweries and Becks of Bremen, the largest exporter of German beer, signed partnership agreement.
